Amber Museum in Dohna Tower
Thousands of pieces and inclusions with insects inside — in a red-brick 19th-century tower by the Upper Lake.

The museum opened in 1979 in Dohna Tower, part of Königsberg’s fortification ring. It shows raw amber, inclusions and jewellery from ancient times to today.
Right next to it are the Rossgarten Gate and the Upper Lake with a walking path.
The region is the world’s main source of amber — the perfect warm-up for a trip to Yantarny.
Tips
- Buy amber only in official shops with a receipt.
- Walk around the Upper Lake — about 3 km.
- There is a restaurant inside the Rossgarten Gate.
